What is the Tiny Desk AI meme?
Tiny Desk AI videos put someone who has never sung on stage into an office desk concert: bookshelves and clutter behind, desk lamps glowing, musicians crammed behind the desk, and the star at the mic singing an 80s funk slow jam. The trend took off in late October 2026 after a video put a college football coach in a Tiny Desk–style concert singing Charlie Wilson and the Gap Band's "Outstanding" — now people make it with their dad, their coach, their boss and themselves.
Rap Anyone makes a new video of you from one photo. It doesn't paste your face onto someone else's clip, and it doesn't use the original song, which is copyrighted: AI writes original soul lyrics about you, with "outstanding" in the hook, and you sing them over a new slow-jam groove with lip sync.
The clips on this page are unedited output of this tool, made from photos of AI-generated people.
How to make a Tiny Desk AI video
1. One clear photo
Face toward the camera, good light, head and shoulders in frame. Your face, hair and clothes stay the ones in the photo.
2. Who it's about
Their name and one thing about them: the coach who never missed a Friday, the dad who fixes everything, the friend who's always late. Hype makes it a tribute; Roast sings the jokes sweetly.
3. Free preview, then the full video
Read and edit the lyrics for free, watch a 4-second preview, then get the full 10-second vertical MP4 for TikTok, Reels or the group chat.
Outstanding Tiny Desk AI lyrics ideas
Coach Ray, that's outstanding, ooh
Thirty Friday nights and you never once quit
Daddy, that's outstanding, yeah
Fixed the sink, the car and my bad day
Jess, that's outstanding, ooh
Showed up an hour late with a smile

Tips for the best Tiny Desk meme
Use a photo where the face is sharp and well lit — selfies work. Hype is the classic version (a heartfelt tribute that goes over the top); Roast is funnier when the lyrics praise something ridiculous, like being outstanding at losing the remote.
Want two people instead? Put both photos in the Hotel Lobby booth. Want a rap instead of a slow jam? Pick West Coast, Block Party or Trap Night on the home page.
AI rap video FAQ
What is the Tiny Desk AI trend?+
People use AI to put themselves or someone they know in a Tiny Desk–style office concert, singing a soul slow jam like Charlie Wilson's "Outstanding". Here you upload one photo and get a 10-second video of that person singing original lyrics at a desk concert.
How do I make an "Outstanding" Tiny Desk AI video?+
Upload one clear photo, type the person's name and one thing about them, and pick Hype or Roast. AI writes original soul lyrics with "outstanding" in the hook; edit them if you like, watch the free 4-second preview, then make the full video.
Does it use the real "Outstanding" song by Charlie Wilson and the Gap Band?+
No. The original song is copyrighted, so we never use its recording or lyrics. The AI writes new lyrics about your person and sings them over a new 80s-style funk slow jam.
Is the Tiny Desk AI video generator free?+
The 4-second preview is free and doesn't need an account. A full video (480p, 10 seconds, no watermark) is 10 credits; credits start at $6.99, bought once, no subscription. Failed videos give the credits back.
Will it look like me?+
The prompt keeps the face, hairstyle, skin tone and clothes from your photo, and the camera stays steady with a slow push-in, so the face stays clear. A sharp, front-facing photo works best.
Is this NPR's Tiny Desk?+
No. Rap Anyone is an independent AI video tool, not affiliated with NPR or NPR Music's Tiny Desk Concerts. "Tiny Desk" describes the meme's look: a small office concert behind a desk.
